CCM has been hard at work updating one of their most successful lines of protective gear for 2022. The AS-V Pro elbow pads are equipped with a multitude of features worthy of CCM’s highest-end label, including D3O foam, reinforced compressed-molded EVA foam, ADPTFit, and an Anatomical Shield Design (ASD). CCM has been further optimizing their ASD construction for this line of protectives to enhance both comfort and coverage.
Bicep & Forearm Protection
The forearm is equipped with a tough plastic Slash Shield over D3O foam. The injection-molded forearm guard ensures max protection with its superior shock absorption qualities. D3O foam is used in CCM’s top gear, and its unrivalled ability to soak in force on impact is why it serves as a main foundation of their Tacks protective line. The forearm area also includes a JDP cap design meant to disperse force for added protection in that area.
The bicep is covered by a two-piece floating articulated bicep guard made of reinforced compressed molded EVA foam. The two-piece construction is built to give you pro-level protection, no matter how you move on the ice.
Elbow Cap
The elbow is made entirely of D3O foam inside and out, making it great at absorbing shock upon impact and keeping that bone safe. The design is wider to cover more surface area and better disperse impact shock, which is an approach tailored toward elite hockey and the coverage that those higher-level players would need.
Strapping System
The AS-V Pro uses an ADPTFit strap and a 360° wraparound forearm strap to ensure a close fit without interfering with the Slash Shield. The forearm strap wraps underneath the padding and is made of tough nylon with a high-tensile weave, keeping it durable and out of the way. The ADPTFit Dual Pull middle strap stretches and is made to cover a wide surface area, enhancing comfort.
Liner
CCM opted for a sublimated, antimicrobial mesh liner for the AS-V Pro. This liner is soft, stretchy, and promotes aeration, keeping you dry and snug throughout the game. The cap at the apex on the inside has an open gap fit for your elbow, keeping all unwanted vibration away from that sensitive area.
